An Israeli airstrike on the home of Rania Abu Unza ended a long-awaited dream, as it took her 10 years and three rounds of IVF to get pregnant. In just moments, she lost her two children, a boy and a girl, who were 5 months old. The airstrike targeted Rania Abu Unza's family home in Rafah, southern Gaza Strip, late on Saturday, killing her children, her husband, and 11 other relatives, while leaving 9 others missing under the rubble, according to survivors and local health officials.
The Associated Press quoted Rania as saying she had woken up at ten to feed her son Naeem, then returned to sleep with him in one arm and her daughter Wesam in the other, while her husband slept beside them. The explosion occurred an hour and a half later, causing the house to collapse. On Saturday, she wept while clutching a baby blanket to her chest, saying, "I cried for my children and my husband (...) they have all died. Their father took them and left me alone."
