Cargo Ship Sinks Off the Island of Lesbos in Greece

The Greek Coast Guard announced that a cargo ship carrying salt sank off the coast of the Greek island of Lesbos today, Sunday, with all 14 crew members missing except for one. They added that the ship "Raptor," flying the Comoros flag, had sailed from the port of Dekheila in Egypt en route to Istanbul when it reported a mechanical failure and issued a distress call early Sunday morning. Eight crew members are Egyptian, while the others are Syrian and Indian. The Coast Guard rescued one individual who was airlifted in the midst of severe winds.
