Schumer: I Fear Israel Could Become Globally Isolated

The New York Times quoted Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer warning, "Israel's future may be at risk unless there is American support for it." He added, "I fear that Israel, under Netanyahu's leadership, could become globally isolated, even in the United States." Schumer is the highest elected Jewish official in U.S. history and has been very cautious in his criticisms of Israel and its military actions in Gaza. He deemed on Thursday that the Jewish state stands "at a pivotal crossroads" after five months of war, emphasizing that holding "new elections is the only way to allow for sound and open decision-making regarding Israel's future, at a time when many Israelis have lost faith in their government's vision and management."
