Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto revealed that protection from Iranian missile and drone attacks has cost Israel around one billion dollars. In his speech to parliament yesterday, he stated that "this demonstrates two things: first, the importance of having an integrated and effective air and missile defense system that is quantitatively and qualitatively suitable, serving as a deterrent and ensuring the country's security." He continued, stating that "secondly, no one can defend themselves alone during such attacks, even countries in constant readiness with a technologically advanced military like Israel," adding that an effective air defense system can only be developed within alliances and with tangible investments. He pointed out that NATO did not provide assistance to Israel in responding to the attack, although some countries aided Israel through bilateral relations.
