The Saudi oil company "Aramco" announced today, Thursday, a global partnership agreement lasting four years with the International Football Federation (FIFA), just months before the announcement of the host country for the 2034 World Cup, for which the Kingdom is the only candidate. The giant company, predominantly owned by the Saudi government, stated in a press release, "Saudi Aramco has become FIFA's main global partner and its exclusive partner in the energy category. The partnership will last for 4 years and will include sponsorship of various events, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup." It noted that "the agreement is based on a shared commitment to innovation and development, and launching impactful social initiatives that align with FIFA's mission to make football more global."
