President Saad Hariri moved through the ranks of supporters gathered in the thousands in front of the memorial of assassinated President Rafik Hariri on the anniversary of his assassination. He greeted the loyal crowds who followed Rafik's path and traveled from various regions since early morning.
In a brief statement from in front of the memorial, Hariri said: "The pulse of the country is here, preserve the pulse and preserve the country, we are together, and I am with you, and everything comes in its time."
President Hariri recited Surah Al-Fatiha at the grave of his martyr father, accompanied by his aunt Bahia Hariri and uncle Shafiq. He also recited Al-Fatiha at the graves of the martyr's companions.
Hariri greeted the Future Movement supporters gathered around the memorial in downtown Beirut and descended among the crowd to have direct contact with them outside the iron barriers, amidst strict security measures.
Despite the stormy weather in Beirut, President Hariri walked among his supporters. He also stated in front of the gathered delegations at Bayt al-Wasat: "President Hariri's project was moderation, and he was martyred because he had a project." He added: "I thank everyone for coming out to the square from all sects."
Then he recited Al-Fatiha for the soul of his father, saying: "I remain with you wherever I am. Ultimately, everything comes in its time, and Saad Hariri does not abandon the people. Tell everyone that you have returned to the square, and without you, the country will not move forward."
In Beirut, there were car convoys flying Future flags heading toward Martyrs' Square, which is witnessing intense security measures by army and security forces to ensure the safety of the gathered crowds.
