Ukrainian officials announced on Tuesday that at least two people were killed in a large Russian missile attack on several regions in Ukraine early today, including the capital Kyiv and the country's second-largest city, Kharkiv. The governors of Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv regions reported via Telegram that at least one person had died in their area. Vitali Klitschko, the mayor of Kyiv, stated on Telegram, "Explosions in the city. Do not leave the shelters." Serhiy Popko, the head of the military administration in Kyiv, advised via Telegram, "Air defense is responding in Kyiv. Stay in shelters until the air raid alert is over." Witnesses from Reuters reported hearing several waves of explosions in Kyiv and the surrounding areas. Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov mentioned that Russia had targeted the city as well, adding, "They are hitting Kharkiv again, and several explosions have already occurred."
