Saudi Arabia and LeoLabs Move Towards Promising Space Collaboration

The Saudi Space Agency signed a memorandum of understanding today, on the sidelines of the Conference on Space Debris in the capital, Riyadh, with the company LeoLabs. The aim is to build a cooperative relationship in the field of space monitoring, exchange relevant expertise and knowledge, and explore future collaboration opportunities.

Under the memorandum, both parties will collaborate to support the growth of the Saudi space industry, enhance research and development capabilities in space situational awareness data, and develop innovative applications that contribute to the adoption of best practices and responsible oversight of low Earth orbit. They will also explore a comprehensive range of long-term benefits for both parties based on the potential for the company to invest in the Kingdom.

Additionally, both sides will deepen their cooperation in areas and projects related to strategic contribution opportunities that the company can offer in the field of awareness, and facilitate discussions with relevant entities to establish facilities and subsidiaries in the Kingdom. According to the memorandum, the agency will explore available opportunities for the company to highlight the expected added value to the civil space business sector.
