The Chief Prosecutor at the Court of Cassation, Judge Jamal Al-Hajjar, issued a questionnaire requesting Major General Tony Saliba, the Director General of State Security, to prepare a judicial investigation report and conduct inquiries regarding the existence of any hazardous materials, regardless of their type, either in public or private facilities that may pose a risk to public safety. He called for the necessary inspections and to consult the requisite expertise to verify the existence and quantities of such materials, as well as whether their presence or storage was approved by any judicial, administrative, or other authority. He instructed that we be consulted to take necessary measures to avoid any hazards and to summon anyone pertinent to the investigation after informing us and keeping us updated on the steps taken in implementation of this questionnaire. This request followed reports addressing the existence of hazardous materials in some facilities, particularly oil facilities in Tripoli.
