On the occasion of Labor Day, Speaker of the House Nabih Berri extended his greetings to the workers of Lebanon, stating: "The true celebration is for all of us to work together to restore for the workers the nation that they defended with their sweat, blood, and souls, a nation that is more radiant, cohesive, and united, a nation of justice, equality, and the revival of institutions." President Berri added: "On the first of May, we salute the workers and farmers who embrace the soil of the south, its tobacco, lemon, fig, and olive, standing steadfast as a testament to the dignity, honor, strength of Lebanon, and its people."
