A patrol from the Lebanese Army successfully compelled the Israeli Army today, Wednesday, to remove two violations of the liberated lands in the Bastra farm. The Lebanese Army was also able to cut off the military road recently opened by the Israeli Army within the liberated area of Bastra farm.
The Directorate of Guidance at the Army Command stated in a report that "an Israeli patrol fired smoke grenades towards a patrol of the Lebanese Army while accompanying a bulldozer working to remove encroachments made by the Israeli enemy north of the withdrawal line (the contested Blue Line) in the Bastra-south area." The army's personnel responded by firing smoke grenades towards the enemy's elements.
Earlier today, Israeli forces in the outskirts of the town of "Kfarshouba," specifically in "Bastra farm," worked on removing the violations they had caused while opening the dirt road near the withdrawal line separating Lebanese lands from the occupied lands in Shebaa farms. This was done using a bulldozer and a digger with the support of three "Merkava" tanks, accompanied by the deployment of international peacekeeping patrols from the Indian battalion working in southern Lebanon and patrols from the Lebanese Army to monitor the operations.
Tensions flared in the border region between Lebanon and Israel on Saturday after Israeli forces threw smoke and sound grenades towards a Lebanese Army unit that was accompanying a Lebanese bulldozer, which was working to remove the debris thrown by Israeli bulldozers in the liberated areas of Bastra farm during grubbing operations conducted two days prior.
