Saudi journalist Walid Al-Faraj has dropped a significant bombshell regarding the departure of Egyptian star Mohamed Salah from Liverpool to one of the clubs in the Saudi Professional League. Recent confirmed reports have circulated about the Saudi Investment Fund's intention to make an irresistible offer to acquire Mohamed Salah in the summer of 2024.
Former Egypt international Ahmed Hossam "Mido" went further, stating on his personal X account days ago: "Mohamed Salah will be in the Saudi league next season... contracts have been signed." Al-Ittihad was among the clubs most interested in signing Salah last summer, making several offers, the last of which was £217 million. However, German coach Jurgen Klopp of Liverpool insisted on keeping the "pharaoh." Yet, the "Reds" face a tough task in retaining their star next summer amid anticipated temptations to acquire him.
Walid Al-Faraj said on his program "Action with Walid" on Thursday evening: "I believe Mohamed Salah will be in the Saudi league; it's something expected." He added, "But I think Mohamed Salah will not join a club in Jeddah; rather, he will go to another team in the Saudi league," amid reports suggesting he is close to Al-Hilal.
Recent reports have confirmed that Mohamed Salah is likely to wear the Al-Hilal jersey in the upcoming season. Salah (31 years old) has participated in 28 matches with Liverpool across all competitions this season, scoring 19 goals and providing 10 assists.
