Title: Polish Club Seeks Help in Match-Fixing Case

The Polish club "Hutnik Kraków" announced in a statement on Tuesday that "the recent results achieved by the team have raised suspicions and called on the Polish Football Association to investigate the matter." Hutnik Kraków, competing in the Polish third division, suffered a 3-0 loss in its last two matches, losing the first match against the host Lech Poznań 4-3 and then losing 5-3 at home to the league leader Kotwica Kołobrzeg. The club described the two defeats as embarrassing: "We have asked the disciplinary officer of the Polish Football Association to conduct analyses to determine whether there was a match-fixing phenomenon in the last two matches." The club also suspended one of its first-team players immediately and terminated the contract of another player by mutual consent.
