South African Foreign Minister Naledi Pandor stressed that her country will always stand with "the Palestinian people shoulder to shoulder to enjoy freedom, democracy, and justice." She stated, "We were very concerned to see the world watching the crimes in Gaza without intervening to stop the slaughter of innocents. The lesson we learned from liberation leaders is that owning weapons does not mean you have to kill people. We have communicated with the International Court of Justice, the highest court in the world, to say that something must be done." She continued, "We realized there is a plan for genocide in Gaza, and the court must intervene. We have noticed that 'Israel,' despite signing the genocide convention, is violating its provisions."
