Title: Azhar University Professor: There is No Quranic Text Prohibiting Cannabis Use

In statements that may spark controversy, a professor at Al-Azhar University in Egypt confirmed that there is no Quranic text prohibiting the use of cannabis. Dr. Suad Saleh, a professor of comparative jurisprudence at Al-Azhar University, stated in an interview with "Al-Shams" channel that the prohibition of drug use, including cannabis, is not explicitly mentioned in the Holy Quran. However, she indicated that reasoning is applied based on the effects of alcohol consumption on individuals. She pointed out that in legislation, there is an analogy between specified and unspecified matters due to the common underlying cause. She also mentioned that the commonality between alcohol and drugs is the impairment of intellect, which is prohibited, hence the consumption of drugs should be treated analogously to alcohol.
