World Bank President Ajay Banga stated today, Tuesday, that "geopolitical factors represent the greatest threat to the global economy at the moment," pointing out that these risks "tend to move" rapidly, so similar risks should not be ignored. Speaking during the annual conference of the Future Investment Initiative, Banga noted, "The yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury bond briefly exceeded five percent yesterday, Monday, which are levels we have not seen." He added, "How much time do we have before the next pandemic?" The World Bank President indicated that "the world is in a more dangerous position, and it is not functioning as usual due to the conflict in the Middle East."
