The media office of President Saad Hariri stated that "it is being circulated on one of the social media platforms that President Hariri is mentioned in a lawsuit in a New York court." It clarified that "for the third time, these two unnamed complainants, who do not reside in the United States and have no connections to it, are filing a lawsuit filled with entirely false and unacceptable accusations aimed at slandering President Hariri, who in turn has no relations with the United States." The statement added, "After another court in New York previously approved our request to dismiss the original lawsuit and automatically rejected the second attempt, the unnamed and deceitful complainants are making a third attempt. Notably, these lawsuits are being filed by a law firm that has faced penalties in court multiple times for misconduct." The statement emphasized that "President Hariri will continue to refuse to be extorted into paying millions of dollars that were demanded of him in exchange for refraining from filing these legal actions; in fact, this is nothing but a smear campaign orchestrated by two women seeking financial gain while tarnishing President Hariri's reputation for that purpose. There is no truth to these baseless allegations." The statement concluded by mentioning that "President Hariri will defend himself in court, and he is confident that his rights will prevail just as they did in the previous main lawsuit."
