US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller stated to reporters today, Thursday, that Washington "does not have expectations" that the parliamentary elections scheduled in Iran for tomorrow, Friday, will be free and fair. Miller said, "I think a large number of Iranians expect those elections not to be free and fair." He added, "As you know, thousands of candidates have already been excluded in an opaque process, and the world has long known that the Iranian political system is characterized by non-democratic and non-transparent administrative, judicial, and electoral systems."
