Crash of a Russian Fighter Jet

A "Tu-22M3" aircraft belonging to the Russian Aerospace Forces crashed in the Stavropol region in the south of the country on Friday morning. The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed in a statement that the aircraft did not carry ammunition and crashed in an uninhabited area, without causing damage on the ground. The ministry reported that the pilots ejected with parachutes, and the rescue team evacuated three crew members, while searching for another pilot. Preliminary information indicates that the incident was caused by a technical malfunction.
