Intensification of Military Operations in the South and the Death of a High-Ranking Israeli Army Officer

Israeli warplanes intensified their airstrikes this afternoon, targeting areas and outskirts of several villages for the first time since the start of the new round of fighting. Israeli aircraft attacked the Ghasyoun Valley, located between the triangle of Qana, Sadqeen, and the outskirts of Yater and Aytroun. The planes also targeted a house in the town of Kfar Kila and another in the town of Maes Jabal. A hostile Merkava tank fired around 3:45 PM today, launching four direct shells at unoccupied residential homes in the border town of al-Abbasiya in the eastern sector. Two individuals, Barak Ayalon and his mother Mira Ayalon, were killed in a Hezbollah attack on the settlement of Kfar Yuval, which was announced in an official statement. The group stated that it targeted an Israeli army military unit in the settlement.
