The Somali National Army announced today, Saturday, the killing of prominent leaders and members of "Al-Shabaab" in a military operation in the central part of the country. According to the Somali News Agency "SONA": "The military operation took place in collaboration with local resistance in an area belonging to the city of Harartiri, resulting in the death of the deputy head of fronts in the regions of Mudug and Galguduud, as well as one foreign leader and five militia members." It was noted that "the execution of the military operation was based on intelligence information while they were traveling on a road in the Doumai area, where the army successfully seized military equipment in their possession." According to the agency, "the prominent leader who was killed in the military operation was Mohamed Ishaq O-Raji, who held the position of deputy head of fronts for Al-Shabaab in the regions of Mudug and Galguduud." "Al-Shabaab" has been conducting attacks to overthrow the Somali government, aiming to seize power to implement strict Islamic law.
