Member of the "Renewal" bloc, MP Ashraf Rifi, announced that he discussed the presidency with the leader of the "Lebanese Forces" party, Samir Geagea. He said, "This is a natural matter, considering it is a priority at this stage, as it is our main concern to restore regularity to political life, especially since the country can no longer withstand delays, procrastination, and acrobatics."
Rifi added after his meeting with Geagea in Maarab, "It is an honor to have a presidential candidate in cooperation with the 'Lebanese Forces', which is MP Michel Moawad, while the other team conceals its internal divisions and inability to unify its ranks by hiding behind the blank paper. This is the first time that 'Hezbollah' has failed to unify its internal ranks."
He blamed "the responsibility for the delay in rescuing the country on anyone who obstructs the presidential election sessions, whether in the first or second round", affirming their insistence on "continuing hand in hand with the 'Forces' to reach a safe harbor, as Lebanon is ours and will not become an Iranian province or part of Iran."
Rifi reiterated his commitment to "continuing the battle and participating in all sessions, although they, unfortunately, turn into a tedious farce for which the other team, which could not unite its ranks, is responsible."
