Israeli Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz stated today, Sunday, in a report by Yedioth Ahronoth that "we are constantly approaching war with Hezbollah and Lebanon will bear the consequences." He emphasized Israel's readiness to pay a price for the return of hostages in the Gaza Strip, considering that without the Israeli army entering Rafah in the south of the strip, "victory cannot be achieved."
Katz mentioned that "the issue of the captives is at the top of the priorities of the Foreign Ministry, and we are making efforts for that, but the proposals from mediators are very complex." He added, "Of course, we will pay a price for the release of the captives, but the most clear red line is that Israel will not agree to stop the war."
Regarding entry into Rafah, the Israeli foreign minister stated, "It is clear that this will happen. Without entering Rafah, victory cannot be achieved." An Israeli source quoted by Al Arabiya mentioned, "If a war breaks out on the northern front, it will be with the state of Lebanon and not Hezbollah." He added, "In the event of a war with Lebanon, we will destroy targets 5 km deep." He continued, "We have a target bank 5 km deep inside Lebanon that we have not yet targeted."
