Barbara Leaf: The Risk of Escalation on the Lebanon-Israel Border is High

U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Barbara Leaf warned of the possibility of escalation on the border between Lebanon and Israel. She noted that her country has cautioned Israel regarding its response to the attacks initiated by Hezbollah. Leaf explained in her statement that Washington has utilized several channels and has assisted its partners in using their direct or indirect channels with Hezbollah to warn against entering into battle and the widening of the conflict.
