Canadian Singer Donates $2 Million to Gaza for the Second Time

Canadian singer The Weeknd has made a financial donation to support the people of Gaza for the second time, this time amounting to $2 million from his humanitarian fund. According to a statement released today, the funds from Abel Tesfaye (The Weeknd) will be used to provide over 1,500 metric tons of fortified wheat flour, which can be used to make more than 18 million loaves of bread to feed over 157,000 Palestinians for a month. It is worth noting that The Weeknd, a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations World Food Programme, previously donated $2.5 million—equivalent to four million emergency meals—for the World Food Programme's response in Gaza in December 2023.
