On the second day of the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, Israeli forces raided the city of Nablus in the West Bank and the Al-Ayin camp located to the east of it on Saturday, coinciding with celebrations for the release of several women from Israeli prisons. They also raided the city of Hebron in the West Bank, according to the Palestinian news agency. Earlier today, an Israeli army unit entered the city of Al-Bireh in the West Bank and stormed a house in the Jabal al-Tawil neighborhood belonging to the Jiyusi family. Local sources noted that Israeli soldiers fired bullets, stun grenades, and tear gas in the Baloua neighborhood. Palestine TV reported that Israeli forces raided the Aqbat Jabr camp in Jericho without providing further details. Additionally, the Israeli army carried out incursions in the Shuafat camp in occupied Jerusalem. These raids come as Hamas is expected to release an additional 13 Israelis later today in exchange for a number of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails as part of a swap deal that began yesterday, mediated by Egypt, Qatar, and the United States. The Palestinian movement had released 13 Israeli detainees yesterday, along with 10 Thais and one Filipino. Meanwhile, Israel released 39 Palestinian detainees from its jails on the first day of the ceasefire agreement, which allowed for a cautious calm and the entry of additional aid into the Gaza Strip after weeks of bloody conflict. The four-day ceasefire took effect yesterday, following weeks of negotiations mediated by Qatar, as well as Egypt and the United States. This ceasefire, which can be extended, stipulates the exchange of 50 prisoners held in Gaza for 150 Palestinian prisoners held by Israel, including women and children.
