At dawn, the Israeli army launched heavy artillery fire from its positions adjacent to the town of Naqoura, Mount Labouna, and Mount Al-Alam towards the outskirts of the town and the forests on Mount Labouna. Throughout the night, the Israeli army fired illuminating flares over the border villages near the Blue Line, while reconnaissance aircraft continued to fly over the villages in the districts of Tyre and Bint Jbeil.
An announcement from "Islamic Resistance" stated that, "In support of our steadfast Palestinian people in Gaza and in solidarity with their brave and honorable resistance, at 1:00 AM on Tuesday, 05-03-2024, Islamic Resistance fighters targeted an Israeli military force moving around the Rahib site with artillery shells, scoring a direct hit."
The Israeli warplanes also carried out airstrikes on the towns of Sultanita and Sidaqeen during the night, resulting in several minor injuries among residents living near the targeted areas, who were transported to hospitals for treatment, in addition to significant damage to vehicles and property.
Israeli artillery targeted the towns of Tyre Harfa, Shahin, Dhahirah, and Aita Ashab for more than half an hour. Notably, the Israeli army has been targeting water tanks on rooftops, most recently yesterday in the towns of Ramieh and Ramesh, as well as shelling several solar panels that provide electricity to artesian wells in the villages, as occurred in the town of Tyre Harfa.
