The spokesperson for the Israeli army, Major Daniel Hagari, along with a significant number of senior officials in the army's information system, recently announced collective resignations from the military in protest against operational and personal matters. According to Israeli Channel 14, "a large number of officers have resigned from the unit responsible for the information system in the Israeli army." Among those who declared their retirements is Colonel Richard Hishet, the spokesperson for the Israeli army concerning foreign media. The channel noted that "Colonel Shlomit Miller Botbul, who is considered the second-in-command in the spokesperson department after Hagari, has also resigned, along with many officers responsible for the army's information division." The Israeli channel further added that "Moran Katz, head of the communications department in the spokesperson unit of the Israeli army, will also leave her position." The channel pointed out that the collective resignations stem from officers' protests against operational and personal issues, clarifying that the resignations "reflect a state of turmoil" within the information unit led by Hagari. It is worth mentioning that this wave of resignations came following the publication by the Israeli Broadcasting Authority of an audio recording of two Israeli prisoners in the Gaza Strip moments before they were accidentally killed by Israeli soldiers.
