The Egyptian Foreign Ministry announced that Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry will head to the Russian capital Moscow on Monday evening for a visit aimed at following up on the course of bilateral relations between the two countries. Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid stated that Minister Shoukry is scheduled to meet during the visit with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov, as well as Secretary of the Security Council of Russia Nikolai Patrushev. They will discuss the overall files of bilateral relations between the two countries and the progress made in implementing cooperation projects that serve the interests of both nations.
Additionally, the ministry spokesman indicated that the visit will provide an opportunity for both the Egyptian and Russian sides to consult and exchange views on several international and regional issues that affect their mutual interests, including developments in the Russian-Ukrainian crisis and its various ramifications.
