Netanyahu Rejects Hamas Conditions Threatening to Enter Rafah

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that "complete victory in Gaza is within reach," rejecting Hamas's latest offer for a ceasefire to ensure the return of hostages still held in the besieged territory. He stated that his government "has not committed to any promises in the proposed deal," while "negotiations are ongoing." Netanyahu reiterated his vow to destroy Hamas, asserting that Israel has no alternative but to cause Hamas's collapse.

In a press conference on Wednesday, he instructed the military to take action in Rafah, emphasizing the need for "unity." He said, "There is no alternative to the military collapse of Hamas, and it must be completed; it is within reach, and governance must be handed over to those who do not harbor terrorism."

He expressed expectations that a few months will be needed in Gaza to achieve victory and that "continuous military pressure is necessary for the release of hostages." Responding to Hamas's reaction, he stated, "Only complete victory will allow us to restore security in both the north and the south... There is no other solution but total victory."

He continued, "There must be negotiations through intermediaries, but not in light of Hamas's response. Our enemies know that the conflict will be resolved diplomatically or militarily, and we will not rest until it is resolved." He added, "We cannot allow nearly 100,000 refugees to exist in our country."

He commented on the restrictions imposed by the U.S. against settlers: "It is dangerous," and concluded, "We will not surrender to Hamas's conditions as they have catastrophic consequences."
