Biden to Mikati: We Will Continue Working to Prevent the Expansion of Conflict

U.S. President Joe Biden affirmed that "the United States will continue to work closely with Lebanon and partners in the Middle East to maintain peace and prevent the expansion of conflict." In a message addressed to Prime Minister Najib Mikati on the occasion of Independence Day, he stated, "Allow me to send you, on behalf of the American people, best wishes on the 80th anniversary of independence. Through our joint commitment to stability and prosperity in the region, the long-standing relationship between Lebanon and the United States holds great significance in building a better future for our peoples and all peoples around the world." He added, "The United States will continue to work closely with Lebanon and partners in the Middle East to maintain peace and prevent the expansion of conflict. I also look forward to working with you next year to shape a safer, more prosperous, and integrated future for the peoples of the region."
