Invisibility Shield Co, based in London, has developed a "massive invisibility shield" that uses a set of precisely designed lenses to bend light, making objects behind it nearly invisible. The shield, called Megashield, is large enough to conceal multiple people simultaneously and is made from high-quality polycarbonate. The shield features a set of lenses that redirect the light reflected from a person standing behind it, away from the person in front of the shield.
Invisibility Shield Co explained through their Kickstarter page that the mechanism of the shield involves capturing light and causing refractions in its paths between the front and back, allowing the shield, through specific light angles, to hide people and objects behind it. The research team mentioned that the shields work more effectively against uniform backgrounds, including grass, leaves, sand, and the sky. Invisibility Shield Co stated, "Our new shields have been completely redesigned to be more stable when left freestanding and easy to carry." The price of the invisibility shield is approximately £699 ($879).
