Saudi Arabia Thwarts Smuggling of One Million Captagon Pills Hidden Among Peppers and Guavas

The Saudi Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle over one million Captagon pills, which were found concealed in a shipment arriving in the kingdom through the port of Dhiba. The Authority explained that a shipment consisting of "peppers and guavas" was brought in on one of the trucks, and during the customs procedures and inspection using security technologies and live means, a total of (1,006,518) Captagon pills were discovered hidden within the shipment.

After the interception process was completed, coordination was made with the General Directorate for Drug Control to ensure the arrest of the recipient of the seized items within the kingdom, and he was apprehended. The Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority emphasized its commitment to tightening customs control over the kingdom's imports and exports, standing watch against smuggling attempts, in line with its main strategy of enhancing community security and protection by reducing attempts to smuggle such harmful substances and other prohibited items.
