Cairo news channel reported that Egyptian authorities have successfully facilitated journalist Wael Al-Dahdouh's entry from the Gaza Strip into the country. Khaled Belshi, head of the Journalist Syndicate, revealed that the syndicate will prepare a file to nominate colleague Wael Al-Dahdouh for the International Courage Award organized by UNESCO, alongside the syndicate's award that was previously announced.
During his speech at the event "Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People: 100 Days of Aggression... Stop the War... Hold War Criminals Accountable," Belshi stated that they are continuing what the syndicate began in supporting the steadfast Palestinian people, who have shown bravery and courage in defending themselves and their land, thanking South Africa for its actions before the International Court of Justice.
The syndicate expressed gratitude to the Egyptian state and the concerned authorities for responding to their request to facilitate Wael Al-Dahdouh's entry into Egypt for treatment in Doha. The syndicate contacted Al-Dahdouh after his arrival on the Egyptian side of the Rafah crossing to check on him.
Al-Dahdouh thanked the Egyptian state, all Egyptian journalists, and the syndicate council for their support for him and the Palestinian cause. He also thanked his colleagues at Al Jazeera for their support, noting that he will travel abroad to continue his treatment. He expressed his wish for "the suffering to cease and for the Palestinian people to obtain their rights with the help of Egypt and all Islamic countries," stating that he is on a healing journey and hoping that God will lift this anguish from the nation.
