Draw for the First International Tennis Tournament

The draw for the first international tennis tournament will take place today, Friday, at 6 PM, under the supervision of the international and Lebanese tennis federations, at the courts of the University of Our Lady of Louaizeh. Two tournaments will be held, the first and second for players under 18 years old, both males and females, from April 8 to 23, 2023, organized by "Batch Makers." The first tournament will start on April 8 and conclude on April 16, while the qualifying rounds for the second tournament will begin on April 15 and end on April 23.

Tournament director Alan Saig explained that both tournaments are included in the international federation's calendar and that the winners will earn points to be added to their ranking on the international list for the under-18 category. The winner of the title will earn sixty points, the runner-up thirty-six points, and both third and fourth places will receive eighteen points. Players who reach the quarter-finals will earn ten points, and those who reach the round of 16 will receive five points.

Saig mentioned that the arrival of the participating players was completed on Thursday. The first tournament closed its registration with 64 male and 64 female players from over 25 countries, the same number that will participate in the second tournament. He noted that players are training daily in preparation for the tournament starting Saturday. Saig expressed his gratitude to the Lebanese Tennis Federation and its president, Oliver Faisal, for overseeing the tournament and supporting the game in Lebanon, as well as to the president of the University of Our Lady of Louaizeh (Zouk Mosbeh), Father Bashar Khoury, and everyone who will contribute to the success of the two international tournaments. It is worth mentioning that the "Yonex" ball is the official ball used in both tournaments.
