UK Defense Minister: Accelerating the Deployment of Laser Weapon for Ukraine

UK Defense Secretary Grant Shapps expressed his desire to accelerate the deployment of the Dragon Fire laser weapon with the potential for it to be delivered to Ukraine. The British Ministry of Defense previously shared footage on social media platform X showcasing tests of the long-range Dragon Fire laser in January, where the video simulated the laser attached to a warship disabling a boat, blinding a drone, and shooting down another. However, Newsweek reported that London currently has no plans to deploy this weapon in Ukraine. According to the minister, this weapon could have "significant implications" for the conflict in Ukraine, noting that the Dragon Fire could be deployed on land, at sea, and aboard drones.
