Iraqi President Condemns Attack on Kormor Gas Field

Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid condemned the attack in a post on X platform this Saturday, which “resulted in martyrs and injuries as well as a power outage” in the Kurdistan region. A consultant to the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq stated that a drone attack on the Kormor gas field in the region yesterday led to the death of four foreign workers. The consultant, a prominent Kurdish politician, noted that production was also halted at the field. A statement from the Kurdistan Region's government indicated that the four foreign workers killed in the attack were from Yemen. The drone attack on the Kormor field caused a disruption in gas supplies to power generation stations, reducing production by approximately 2500 megawatts. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
