## Best Quarterly Performance for Nasdaq Since 2020

Wall Street rose on Friday, with the Nasdaq index recording its largest percentage gains for a quarter since June 2020, after signs of easing inflation fueled hopes that the Federal Reserve would soon end its aggressive rate hike campaign. The S&P 500 also marked its second consecutive quarterly gain, led by the technology sector, which rose more than 20 percent. Preliminary data indicated that the S&P 500 increased by 58.07 points, or 1.43 percent, closing at 4108.76 points. The Nasdaq Composite rose by 208.44 points, or 1.74 percent, to 12221.91. The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed by 408.66 points, or 1.24 percent, to 33267.69 points.
