The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants in the caretaker government, Abdullah Bo Habib, warned the West that "any potential war would leave Hezbollah stronger, similar to the 2006 war. Therefore, our friends in the West should pressure Israel to cease fire and avoid waging war against 'the party' as the Israeli Defense Minister claims." Bo Habib indicated in an interview with "mtv" that "all provocations are coming from Israeli officials, while Hezbollah has not made any provocative statements. The proof is that the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, has not made any remarks since that shows he is against escalation, and our dialogue with the party is ongoing. We are concerned for Lebanon."
Bo Habib revealed that "Hamas has informed Iran and Hezbollah that it is capable of withstanding months during the ground battle. Therefore, the party will not intervene merely upon an invasion of Gaza unless it is massive or in the event of a severe attack on Lebanon. The party and Iran have told us that they had no prior knowledge of the 'Flood of Al-Aqsa' operation, as confirmed by Blinken."
He stated, "Lebanon was not invited to the Cairo summit, and we do not know the reason. I hoped that the summit would succeed and issue a unified statement, and that the Americans would pressure Israel to prevent a regional war, as they cannot eliminate Hamas."
In another context, "Al-Jomhouria" learned from diplomatic sources that the United Nations Security Council will hold a session tomorrow to discuss the situation in the Middle East, with a focus on the situation in Gaza. The attendance will be at a high level, with several foreign ministers from the concerned countries in the region, including the foreign ministers of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Palestine. The Foreign Minister of Lebanon, Abdullah Bo Habib, will be absent due to his scheduled visit to Damascus today, based on a cabinet decision to discuss coordination regarding the return of displaced persons and possible steps to be taken.
