After capturing the world's attention by being extracted alive from her deceased mother's womb last week in Gaza, the Palestinian infant "Rouh" has passed away. Her uncle, Rami Al-Sheikh, announced that his niece died yesterday, Thursday, in a hospital in Gaza after her health deteriorated and the medical staff was unable to provide adequate care.
This occurred after the home of the late infant in the city of Rafah in southern Gaza was hit by an Israeli airstrike just before midnight last Saturday, resulting in the deaths of her parents and her four-year-old sister. The bodies were transported by ambulances to a nearby hospital, where doctors performed an emergency cesarean section on her mother, Sabreen Al-Sakani, who was in her thirtieth week of pregnancy.
The infant remained in a neonatal intensive care unit at another hospital until her passing five days later. Her uncle confirmed that the infant was buried next to her father on Thursday.
