US President Joe Biden confirmed during an interview today, Friday, that he is prepared to participate in a public debate with Republican Donald Trump, who he will face in the upcoming presidential election in November. In response to a question from host Howard Stern about his readiness to engage in a public debate with his predecessor, the 81-year-old Democrat and candidate for a second term said, "I would be happy to debate him. I'm ready, somewhere. I don’t know when." Trump has previously challenged Biden multiple times to face him in a debate, asserting that he will be able to prove that the US president suffers from cognitive issues. The debate committee set the dates for three rounds that will take place from September 16 to October 9. Participation in debates is not mandatory for candidates but has become common since 1976.
