Warning: A Storm is Coming to the UAE

Meteorology specialist Father Elie Khneisser warned via his Facebook page of a thunderstorm approaching the UAE, stating: "Maximum readiness has been announced." Cold winds will blow from a source where polar waves dominate to the west of the Caspian Sea, towards the Arabian Peninsula. A low-pressure area will form, with values reaching around 1006 hPa, over the United Arab Emirates and eastern Riyadh. This will contribute to the influx of hot and humid winds from the Arabian Sea towards the UAE, colliding with cold winds that will have temperatures in the 640 hPa layer close to -6 to -8 degrees.

Cumulonimbus clouds will form, bringing heavy and moderate rain on Friday evening accompanied by thunderstorms, evolving into a torrential storm as Saturday dawns. Cities such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Fujairah, Al Ain, Khorfakkan, Shinas, and central UAE will be at risk regarding hail formation, rising water levels, and flash floods, with lightning probability reaching 100% from Saturday morning until dawn on Sunday. Hailstones will pose a danger to property, and it appears that rainfall levels over the next 30 hours will range between 130 and 190 mm, threatening runoff in valleys and rising water levels on roads in some areas.
