Pakistani police have announced that gunmen shot and killed seven workers near Gwadar Port in southwest Pakistan early on Thursday. A police official stated that the gunmen stormed a house about 25 kilometers east of the coastal city and opened fire on the workers while they were asleep. The coastal city is located in the troubled Balochistan province in the southwest of the country, which borders Afghanistan and Iran. Baloch separatist militants have previously targeted workers from Punjab province in similar attacks to the recent shooting incident.
