Egypt: Children Suffocate in Swimming Pool at a Famous Club

The Public Prosecution in Egypt is conducting extensive investigations following the suffocation of several children in a swimming pool at the El Sheraton Sports Club in Giza Governorate, according to local media reports. The police emergency operations room received a report about the incident, prompting relevant authorities to investigate the causes of the event. Approximately 15 children are reported to have suffered from suffocation due to chlorine gas leakage in the swimming pool, as per the same source. Security forces in Giza Governorate have detained four individuals responsible for the management and operation of the swimming pool at El Sheraton, including the owner of the maintenance company. Additionally, security forces arrested the owner of the maintenance company, a supervisor, and two technicians, and they were taken to Aggouza Police Station pending their transfer to the Public Prosecution for investigation.
