U.S. Central Command: Destruction of 5 Drones Over the Red Sea

U.S. Central Command announced engagement with and successful destruction of five drones over the Red Sea, which posed a threat to the coalition and commercial ships. The statement said: "Between 1:48 and 2:27 a.m. (Sanaa time) on April 28, U.S. Central Command successfully engaged five unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over the Red Sea." The statement added: "It was determined that these drones represented an imminent threat to the United States, the coalition (Prosperity Coalition), and commercial vessels in the region." The action was described as a measure "to protect freedom of navigation and make international waters safer for U.S. and coalition ships as well as commercial vessels."
