In the ninth session of the trial of the Egyptian woman "Hanaa M. H," aged 30, accused of killing her son and cooking and consuming his head as a meal, a new development arose with the issuance of reports from two psychological committees requested by the public prosecution for discussion regarding their findings. One report indicated the accused's rationality, while the other pointed to a mental disorder.
The accused, Hanaa Mohamed Hassan, known as "the Lady of Faqous," is facing charges of premeditated murder of her five-year-old son, Saad Mohamed Saad, as she ended his life and consumed parts of his body after cooking them.
The events of case number 8619 of 2023 date back to Wednesday, April 26, when the security authorities in the Sharqia Security Directorate received a notification of a report accusing a woman of killing her son and dismembering his body inside her home in the village of Abu Shalabi, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Faqous Police Center.
Investigations revealed that the accused, Hanaa Mohamed Hassan, a 37-year-old housewife residing in the village of Kafr Abu Shalabi, had killed her son, Saad Mohamed Saad, aged 5, inside her house. The examination and the statements from the accused indicated that she had killed her son and dismembered the body, cooking some parts and eating from them. Upon review by the investigative authorities, she was referred to criminal trial.
