Two Palestinian organizations reported on Sunday that "Israel has arrested 142 women and girls from the Gaza Strip since the ground invasion began in October." The Palestinian Authority's Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoners Club stated in a joint statement that "among the detainees are infants and elderly women." The organizations added that "based on available data, the female detainees are being held in several prisons, including (Damon and Hasharon)." There has been no response from the relevant Israeli authorities regarding the arrests of women from Gaza. The organizations mentioned in the joint statement: "The occupation's prison administration announced at the end of November that there are 260 detainees from Gaza classified as unlawful combatants." They referred to statements made by Israeli Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir concerning Palestinian detainees, particularly those from Gaza. The statement included that Ben Gvir "submitted a request to the head of the prison administration to transfer detainees from Gaza to the solitary confinement section (Rakvit) established under (Nitzan Ramla prison), which is considered one of the worst and oldest prisons."
