The Algerian Sonatrach Group signed a memorandum of understanding with TotalEnergies aiming to enhance their partnership and expand cooperation fields, particularly in the Timimoun area in Algeria. The group stated in a statement that the memorandum aims to "evaluate and develop hydrocarbon resources in the northeastern region of Timimoun, relying on the existing processing facilities in the area." Additionally, among the objectives of the memorandum is to "establish frameworks for cooperation between the two parties to conclude a hydrocarbon contract in the specified area of interest, in light of Law No. 19-13 regulating hydrocarbon activities."
