British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak stated on Monday that the "Group of Seven industrialized nations is preparing a package of coordinated measures against Iran following Tehran's drone and missile attack on Israel on Saturday." Sunak, speaking in Parliament and citing discussions among G7 leaders over the weekend, said, "We are urgently working with our allies to determine the steps we can take together in a coordinated manner to deter and condemn Iran's actions." He added, "I have spoken with my G7 counterparts, and we are united in our condemnation of this (Iranian) attack." Rishi Sunak also indicated that he would soon speak with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about how to prevent escalation in the region following the Iranian attack with missiles and drones. This week, Iran launched explosive drones and missiles at Israel in response to what it described as an Israeli airstrike on its consulate in Damascus on April 1, which resulted in the deaths of seven Revolutionary Guard officers. British military aircraft assisted in shooting down the drones.
