Interior Minister Announces Start of Security Plan Implementation in Tripoli

The office of the Minister of Interior and Municipalities in the caretaker government, Bassam Mawlawi, announced that "the units of the Internal Security Forces began implementing the security plan in Tripoli since yesterday. Security patrols from the regional gendarmerie unit in the north were deployed, and mobile checkpoints and temporary positions were established in the streets of Tripoli, especially inside commercial markets. Additionally, the mobile forces unit conducted patrols and set up checkpoints with the necessary force to suppress incidents of gunfire, arrest those involved, and hand them over to the relevant unit for legal proceedings. Meanwhile, the leadership of the northern regional area, along with the investigation division in the regional gendarmerie unit, the judicial police, the information branch, and the central investigation division of the embassy security apparatus, are intensifying intelligence efforts and gathering information about gunfire incidents and working to apprehend the offenders. Cooperation and coordination are ongoing with the military and the General Directorate of General Security." Mawlawi is following up on the implementation of the plan with security leaders, officers, and units tasked with execution on the ground.
